We often do things a little bit differently at BBC. Today outdid itself in that capacity with just about everything off of the traditional schedule.
After a brief welcome by Pastor Lynn little Miss Meadow opened our service by singing "Silent Night" all by herself. She did a great job and you can hear her under the Music > Specials tab.
Pastor Lynn then took special prayer requests and said the opening prayer. Next we'd planned to do our Congregational hymn, but technical difficulties kicked in (nice try, Satan) so everyone took a moment to meet and greet each other while the kinks were worked out of the sound system.
Miss Debbie had planned for the children to give a teaser song presentation from tonight's Christmas play after greetings and that's exactly what they did. What a nice stage full of kids; we love seeing the kids perform! To hear that song you'll have to go to the play this evening or see the video on our Facebook page!
Back on track again the congregation sang "Away In A Manger" together. Sometimes by going back to our roots and singing the simple songs you'll find the greatest impression on your heart. You can't help but love the story as presented in "Away In A Manger."
Following the Offertory collection the four ladies of the Shades of Grace sang a beautiful rendition of "Christmas Offering" in three-part harmony.
Pastor Lynn completed the service with his message entitled "Christmas Is Heaven's Idea." You can hear it in it's entirety under the Sermons> 2015 tab.
