I am asking you to pray for this Sunday's service at Blackwater Baptist and other like-minded churches. I have been very burdened by God to preach a message that violates the law of Caesar in favor of the law of God. Last Sunday, after church I met with the leadership (Deacons & Trustees, and any interested church members). The leadership unanimously supported the effort to defy the IRS code and the so called Johnson Amendment which restricts the speech of churches, and which I believe is a violation of the the 1st Amendment of the Constitution.
This Sunday (October 7th), Blackwater Baptist Church will join over 1,400 churches across the country who are coming together, to challenge the restrictions of our freedom of speech and our freedom of religion. We must speak the truth of God's word which applies to and intertwines with every aspect of our life, including politics. The intimidation of some organizations & legislative efforts to silence and barricade churches inside their own little fox hole cannot go unchallenged.
"The future of religious freedom depends on a free pulpit to communicate fundamental, biblical principles to congregations across America."
Together in Christ,
P.S. I hope to see you on Sunday, and consider inviting a friend or family member.
BBC is a warm and welcoming family of like-minded believers who come together to worship our amazing God. Since 1774 BBC has served the Blackwater community and while steeped in tradition we also blend in a bit of contemporary to transition to an exciting future. We'd love to have you join us!
