The end of July already? Where has the time gone? BBC is gradually getting ready to transition into a new year starting in September. The Finance Committee and the Missions Committee both recently met to start getting their ducks in a row. The Nominating Committee's Volunteer sheets are on the hall table waiting to be filled out by those who feel led to serve. The Annual Church Picnic is now on the "Things To Do" agenda (although that won't be until the 2nd Sunday in September).
Where will you serve? How can you help BBC to grow in the coming year? Don't attend Sunday School yet? Perhaps this coming year would be a good time to start! Want to work with kids? We've got a great bunch of kids rearing to go! There are so many opportunities to serve God and help others - pray that God will use you according to your called purpose!
Today's sermon was another in the "How To Be Happy According to Jesus" series by Dr. Lynn Hardaway. We learned about kathros, or 'clear without impurity' and heard a very interesting analogy with sour milk. This all led to our focus on a sour heart. Scripture was from Luke 24, Matthew 5 and Mark 7. Dr. Hardaway's point to be remembered was this, that "When you stop believing all of this book [the Bible] your life's going to grow sad and you're going to become angry." The whole message was really good and if you missed it you can find it under our Sermon tab.
BBC is a warm and welcoming family of like-minded believers who come together to worship our amazing God. Since 1774 BBC has served the Blackwater community and while steeped in tradition we also blend in a bit of contemporary to transition to an exciting future. We'd love to have you join us!
