Another stupendous day! It began with great discussions in Sunday School with good people who want to know more about God.
Then our worship service started with the announcement we've all been waiting for.... Pastor Lynn told us when he and his family would be moving into our community! We're so excited to have them live here with us; so we can love on them and have them be part of all of our experiences as a church and as friends and kindred spirits through Christ.
We were blessed to have Dr. Sanni, of India, stop by to give a progress report on how our support is helping to change lives in his country. Then we sang several traditional hymns followed by the ever emotional and thought-provoking "Lord, I Need You." How can anyone ever hear that song without thinking of what God can do in a person's life? It says it all.
Pastor Lynn presented a terrific sermon called Put God First and challenged us to trust God with our finances, and to increase our Giving to God to further His kingdom. "Distrust leads to disobedience" and He tells us to tithe. So what holds us back? Taken from Joshua 7, it was about letting go and letting God take control of our lives. How many times have we reached a point where we eventually turn to God and say we've made a mess of things?
It was a great day to be in the house of God. Looking forward to next Sunday already!
We've been making a few changes over the last few weeks within the order of service and music. We upgraded the computer and media software and everything should be working better than ever, right? Well, not so fast...
Satan has been doing his best to cause disruption, but he cannot win so he may as well give up trying. Today was no exception with a few blurry photos on the announcement slideshow, and music slides jumping by themselves. music too fast or too slow, or everyone missing an intro altogether.
Special thanks to Rob and Jimmy for working hard last Thursday night, to get that big nest of wires behind the sound system straightened out!
Everyone had a good time though. The mood was good and we serve a wonderful awesome God. I'm sure even He had to chuckle as we plowed ever forward.
Our attendance continues to grow on Sunday mornings. We'd love to see you come too! We have a lot of good folks and plenty of good times.
Today's message was especially meaningful in many ways, as Dr. Hardaway presented "How To Know What God Wants You To Do" based on scripture from the books of Hebrews and Joshua.
To find God's plan:
We have been praying for a while now for our pastor's family and ever since last week when it was announced to the congregation we are excitedly wait for the Hardaways to move to Blackwater. It will be so nice when they can call Blackwater 'home!'
BBC is a warm and welcoming family of like-minded believers who come together to worship our amazing God. Since 1774 BBC has served the Blackwater community and while steeped in tradition we also blend in a bit of contemporary to transition to an exciting future. We'd love to have you join us!
